I want to blog about my weight. I am going to try to lose some weight throughout this school year, so that I can a) avoid the “freshman 15”, b) treat my body in a healthier way, and c) be happier with my body.
I am going to attempt to lose weight by tracking my calories on http://www.livestrong.com/myplate/, along with exercising.
I have already been tracking my calories for about a month, and haven’t seen much change in my weight, but I have noticed that I don’t eat as much as I thought I did. I have found that, normally, I eat around 1700 calories per day, which is 300 calories less than the reccomended daily calorie intake for a regular person. But, even though I am eating less than “the regular person”, I need to lower my calorie intake if I want to see a change in my weight, because my regular intake is already less than 2000 calories per day. Which is why, as of now, I am lowering my calorie goal to 1500 calories per day. This is going to be one of the harder things for me, since I absolutely love food, and as I am still a teen I am always hungry. But, I will get through it. I hope.
I am also going to try to exercise regularly, which means that I want to walk, bike, run, or use the wii fit for at least half an hour per day, four days per week. This is definitely going to be a major difficulty for me, because I don’t usually exercise at all, let alone regularly! And, with running around up at the college four days a week and the loads of homework piled on top of that, I’m not sure when I’ll have the time for it all. But, I have decided that if I want to change my body so badly, that I had better start now.
