excuse you, world

(via sainthannah)

For all of you who are struggling with EDs, or thinking about them (or, merely just interested in them), I strongly encourage you to read the book “The Best Little Girl in the World” by Steven Levenkron, along with its sequel, “Kessa”, as they both really put a spotlight on the harm Anorexia Nervosa can cause girls (and guys, too).

I read both of these books in my freshman year of high school (one of the toughest years I went through, weight-wise), and I vowed to myself that I would never put my body through all of that self-harm… I had actually been thinking about starving myself to be model-thin. After reading the book, however, I realized that all of the awful feelings I would have about myself, if I gave into an ED, were not what I wanted to be thinking about myself; so, I decided that I wasn’t going to worry about my weight any more… (Of course, now I am trying to lose weight, but I’m doing it in a healthy way, and I’m aiming for a healthy weight.)

I just hope that someone will pick up either of these books, because it may just change their mind about what they want their body to be like. It may just help them to seek help. Or, I HOPE, it may help them to choose a healthier path…
